Greetings and salutations, once and future readers. I’m Candi and I’m a sometimes writer, full-time English teacher (don’t hate me for that), drama program coach, and mother. I am excited to be starting this website. I want it to be a singular place where people can go to find my writing and discover what I am up to. I am a ginormous fan of traditional fantasy and storytelling–both as an audience and creator.

My Story

I am an introvert that alternates between uncontrollably babbling or extreme silence when nervous. Yet, at one point I majored in theater and I now stand in front of high school students talking on a regular basis about writing, reading, and all things communicating. I proudly identify as weird (normal is boring) and a bit of a geek.

I starting reading at age 4 (Dr. Seuss FTW!) and quickly gravitated towards fairy tales and children’s fantasy–Alice in Wonderland is still one of my favorites. However, I felt like I couldn’t write because I was too young, too sheltered, and did not have enough life experience to write well. When I was a teen, I made friends with someone who had written a novel and shared it with me… and it was sooo good. And I realized that I could tell stories, I could write, I didn’t have to wait until some mythical future to actually write. And I’ve been doodling around with stories and writing for the last 30+ years. One of my favorite parts of writing is interacting with readers of my scribbles.
